You could run it on 50psi if you really wanted to but it won't last very long
The more boost you have the sooner it will blow up, the engine isn't really engineered to run boost, but 10ish psi will probably be fairly safe I would say
PSI isn't everything, having bigger intake runners, throttle body and piping will reduce pressure but not necessarily the flow or power of the motor

Thats pretty pathetic considering that 420hp isn't that much power when it comes down to it (even for a stock k20a). Only making 420hp at 42 pound, no wonder it blew up, the charge temperatures from the turbo must have been hundreds and hundreds of degrees = bang.
Edit: Ok I watched the video and they actually made 588hp, which is pretty impressive for a stock motor regardless of lifespan.
