    DIY center caps

DIY center caps for those who are too tightass to buy proper ones.
Please read through this before you start as you may wish to paint or place stickers on the caps before placement.

    Items required:
    -file
-plastic caps, I used Clark Rubber item number 7425 (please note sizes may vary)
    -paint/stickers optional

    1. Head down to Clarke rubber and pick yourself up 4 50mm round Black plastic plug end.
    Clark Rubber item number 7425.
    They were $1.25ea making a total of $5. (11/05/07)

Notice they may have a bit of mould left on them, which should easily come off with the file.

    2. Only slightly file the points as I found they were a little to snug to fit inside the holes.

    3.
Once you have done 1, test fit them to your first wheel. They should pop in with a few firm taps of your palm. If not adjust your filing of the fins to accommodate this. Do not use a hammer or force them in as you may damage or chip your wheel.

They should all fit flush once in place.

    Please Note:
They can be a little difficult to take out once on if the wheel is still on the car. The solution is to pop them out from the inside, once the wheel is removed from the car.

how hot do you expect your wheels to get?
they have as much chance of melting as any other plastic center cap.
