    Clearence and Rim size

    Hey guys,

Say I have 15" rims on, and my clearence of the ground is 10mm.
I put 17" rims on, what will my clearence become?

Assuming that profile is exactly the same on both rims.

ground clearance should be increased by Xcm...

Not sure where profile should be the same.. unless their both 40-45 already...

    eg.. from 205/50/16 --> 205/50/17

But in most cases... profile should go down.. width of tyres increase.. as load ratings come into play..

ur clearance will be 2 inches higher if u go from 15" to 17" in theory, but i'd assume ur profile will be alot smaller with the 17" wheels..

illegal to not have the rolling diameter (wheel and tyre) the same with rim increases (i.e. rim goes up, profile comes down).

also, if you don't keep that diameter the same your speedo will be thrown out.

Dont forget about insurance too dude.
Correct me if i am wrong i think you can go two inces up from stock before insurance premiums will go up ...but you need to reduce in profile so in therory the wheel is the same size

    I have a Accord EXI 4GEN and im running 205/45 16 inch
What i love is i didnt have to play with the guards to fit the wheels and insurance is still bareable.

You will love the handling diff

Just my thoughts good luck champ

    How can that be?

Assuming you had not tyres, increasing your rims size from 15" --> 17" would make your car 1 inch higher (no not 2).

How much higher your car gets depends on the profile of the rubber used.

As was said you HAVE to change the profile on the tyre unless you want everthing to get ****ed up. The clearance will remain exactly the same.
