dont get nrma inspection, they are crap, get stateroads to do the check, it costed me 160$ and money well spent, they check for headgasket leaks etc which nrma doesnt.
i dont have their number but can visit their web site
www.stateroads.com.au i think. otherwise yeah as stated obove, logbooks, accidnet history, things you would look out for any other car.

whoops yeah stateroads, not NRMA, 5 pages, $120 ++ (depending on how far away the car is) 02-98721994. For anyone else.. they're not just in sydney. They're in gosford, newcastle, melb, brisbane. I love their report.

supernatural,
Well in Adelaide its called the RAA, but yeh i say go for it. If you're going to spend $15-25,000 + on something then ~$150 is a small price to pay for peace of mind

hey supernatural... get ur car already man...!!!
by the time u find one i reckon u could afford an s2k

Personally i wouldnt buy a dc2r without FULL service history (these high revving engines need to be serviced properly else..)
Like people have said, get it inspected no matter who its from. Some dealers are pretty shonky.
Do a google search for what you should do yourself when inspecting a car... its a long list! but if your going to spend 20k+ and its hard earned money then it will be worth it!
And dont rush into it. I took me 6 months to find the right dc2r..

may i ask why some type r are 1834cc and others are 1734cc??? they are both advertised as type r...
and also wat are the difference between the 1999 and 2000 model??
-
i believe there is no difference between the 99-00 model from my knowledge and for the engine capacity, all type r, the dc2r have ecactly the same capacity, its most likely to be a typo. otherwise there was this indy edition which had different colour seats and a few extras thrown in
