But I like Contis enough to choose them over the more expensive V550. Tony1234 has more experience as he has the Contis, so listen to him.
Yeah, contis are excellent but the price If you track your car i wouldn't put them on though,i'd go for Yokohamas.

I don't track my car, just normal daily driving but of course you get that "fast spirit" once in a while.

All i am worrying is the tyre flex, my current factory dunlop gives lot of tyre flex, and steering response is at its lowest possible.

How the conti work? Precise steering response? does it give you that "almost lose it" feeling when doing hard cornering? Thanks.

Must have a look at this site - www.cheaptyres4u.com.au. I saved around $100 PER tyre when I bought mine from here a month ago. Just make sure you specify EXACTLY what you need and itemise everything carefully (including alignment etc. etc.) and get a quote for everything (otherwise you may end up paying extra towards the end) and try avoiding the 7Hills workshop!

Almost everything is better than the stock Dunlops. (except for maybe Ling Longs).

I have PS2s, they're ~ $450-$500 a pop in 225/45/17. Great tyre though......if you're willing to cough up. I'm not sure I will be next tyre change tough!

Yeah, Michelin PS2 are pricey, I think because they are the OEM tyre for the E46 M3.

[QUOTE=Chris_F;1203324]Honestly, I was really disappointed with the f1 gs-d3... after about 15,000km they really feel lacking in grip and only lasted me 30,000km or so.

I also bought these for my 05 lux - I'm not too happy with them either. Compared to the stock RE040 they seem to have a much softer compound and thicker side wall which numbed the feeling and directional response. I also found there was less lateral grip. The only way I was able to gain the same feeling from the Bridgestone’s was after installing a Whiteline RSB and Cusco tower bar. However I have done 30000km with them and they do seem to last. On that note, I would still not recommend them or buy them again.

are there any decent tyres with 300 wear rating for under $200 a pop (in 17")?

i like the sounds of the yoko c-drive but its slightly out of my budget... replacing all 4 would be $1k+

and i'm really dissapointed with the factory bridgestones.. not only were they loud and caused my car to veer to the right, they also ran out superfast with normal driving ... dont want this to happen again with the next set.
