    Please Help - D16 Engine

    Hey,

Iv just begun to modify my '94 EH Honda Civic VTi (d16Y1 - 1.6L SOHC Vtec).

As for reliability, I'm looking at buying a d16y4 worked block for cheap (cylinder block guard, Low Compression Cp Forged Pistons, Cp Piston Rings, Eagle Rods ). Does anyone have any suggestions on what head to use with the new block? How much trouble to set the new engine up? Should I buy the block or stick with my y1 engine? Your call.

Also a 10PSI turbo is on the way, once thats in I'll need larger injectors and an ECU and tune. Can anyone think of anything else that would come in handy?

    Thanks,
    Michael.

There is lots of info under Technical -> Forced Induction.

Yeah but I don't have the built block yet. I just decided that I'll get it and yeah, I'll be looking at more boost. I see everyone boost around 12-20, where in that range is a comfortable figure?

Yeah I'l chek the thread out now.

I figured it would be easier to sell my engine as a whole (block and head assembled) and then buy the worked blocked and a machined, ported etc head seperately. With this in mind, I can go whichever head I want!! Whats the very best head to boost with a built y4 block??

From my reading and research the Y8 head should be compatible with the Y4 block. As far as I know these engines come from the same manufacturing years ('96-'00). However, I haven't looked into boosting the Y8 head as my plan is to keep it all motor.

The guys in the US also like Skanky women at car shows and Under car Neons.

Doesn't mean that it is actually a good thing.
