    Why dont people paint CF bonnets? Is it the wank factor? I'd love to have the weight drop, but not the ugly black bonnet.

    True true. Even normal caliiber pistols with teflon coated bullets have a high chance of penetrating the kevlar. The tactical combat vests worn by the US infantry actually have hardened steel plates in them.
