These any good in 215/45 17s?

I'm comparing with Michelin Pilot Sports and Pirelli P1s. I can get the Michelins for $180 a corner which seems bloody cheap.

Thats damn cheap for Pilot Sports! Where did you get the quote from?

Last quote I got for 215/45/17 for the RE001s was about $230-240/tyre.

If its $180 per corner for Michelin Pilot Sports, thats a very good deal.

Micheline Pilot Sports is usually in the high 300ish - 400ish mark (for17") and now you are getting them for 180. There is cheap and then there is suspciously too cheap. I feel the latter.

In the latest VTEC Club 5 they compare the RE001 to the RE070 on stock FD2s. The FD2s with RE070 were consistently 1 second faster then when they had the RE001 on.

But admittedly it is $340 a corner for RE070 compared to $240 a corner for the RE001.

They did not use RE001, they were RE01R which are not sold here in OZ.

RE01R is one of the max performance street tyre similar to Advan AD07.

They are totally different from the RE001, they ahve different patterns too.

Your're right it was the RE01R not the RE001 they tested.

But there you go, you have another superior option for another 100 bux a corner more.
