    ^^ As he said.

Technically a pink slip is supposed to certify the roadworthiness of a vehicle, and a car which passes should be able to pass any defect check. Depends how thorough the AIS (Authorised Inspection Station) is.

If you need a pink slip then your rego renewal notice will state "INSPECTION REQUIRED"
Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

if it's just to change records (eg an engine swap) then yeah that's about right. But a blue slip for anything else will be more than that.
WTB for an '04 Jazz (pre-facelift), PM me if you have:
    - Factory sideskirts (blue)
    - OEM 14" alloys

Mine was a simple blueslip which was straight engine conversion. They were more worried about engine capacity.

Pinkslip is $22 if no issues with car
Where did you go? need to get a blue slip for motor shortly.. cheers
