unless your temp gauge is significantly higher than normal, and is in/near the red bit, your car is not overheating and you dont need to worry.

stop trying to fix something that isnt broken.
IF you have read the posts CAREFULLY.
    the motor IS NOT overheating.
it's just creating alot of heat under the bonnet.

alot of ppl add washers without changing to longer bolts, hence the bonnet isnt really secured in place. wat will happen during a head-on collision? not pretty.

even with the help of longer bolts, i personnaly dont think its that save too, tats if u raise it up too much. mayb not to the extreme, then its ok.

i maintain that nothing should be done unless the temp gauge is moving. engines get hot. get used to it.

its illegal because like vents in your bonnet, if an oil line bursts oil may come thru the vents in the bonnet and onto the windscreen and may obscure the sigh of the driver thus causing an acco.

well so ive heard from one of those police in an interview on tt. *rolls eyes*

in order to operate efficiently your engine needs to be hot. cooling it too much will make it less efficient, and result in unburnt fuel leaving your tailpipe, or at least being burnt in your catalytic converer instead of the combustion chamber.

she wants to release the heat the that motor is producing.
not, making the engine run cooler.

hmmm...i wonder what will happen if she makes the heat that the engine is producing dissipate more quickly? oh wait...captain obvious to the rescue...it will run cooler!
