    B16A engine code and spec

The engine code i can read on my engine is B16A and the engine number start with 5*****. The engine is year of 96.

I know the AUDM B16A start at year of 95 and all of them have a code with B16A2 on the engine?

Therefore, my engine must be a JDM B16A (as the privious owner said) come from 96 Civic SiR II with 170bhp?

but JDM 96 Civic SiR II has the B16A4 engine and why the code on my car is not B16A4?

really? wouldn't have the slightest idea, but I'm pretty sure it's the 170bhp engine you are referring to. Grab one of the ozhonda guru's to confirm it

jdm b16a's only have B16A on the top line, and a row of numbers along the bottom.. whether it's auto or manual, it's like that.. disregard the starting number as i'd say it's pure coincidence that an auto and a manual have the same starting number..

you'd probably have the jdm b16a, but you won't be getting the full 170bhp, as the jdm spec engines have been tuned to be run in japan, where their fuel is of better quality..

the auto civics have a lower power output due to milder cams used

not to mention the auto box isn't as efficient as the manual.
