I'm getting a turbo in my civic in a few weeks time, but I'm pretty sure my insurance won't insure me as it won't be legal.
I got my P’s 1 ½ years ago so I still have to comply with the power to weight ratio (125kw:1000kg.)
First of all;
1) When they test turbo charged cars for rwc and compliance, do they count the fly wheel & in my case, front wheel drive kw? I think the fly wheel will be around 220-250kw and the front, 160kw.
2) How do they measure the weight of the car, is it just the weight that’s displayed on the rego sticker?
3) Even if I do get an engineer’s certificate, I’m still f’d right?
Since my car’s exactly 1 tonne I’m pretty much screwed. So if I can’t get turbo my car legally I might just get an engine swap and turbo later
