Unhappy S4 flashes when I start my car

    Hi there,

When I start my car, after about 2 or 3 minutes, the S4 light starts to flash on the dash. I was wondering if anyone knows what this might mean? I've been told it could be a problem with the transmission? Any ideas?

I had the same problem with my prelude before.
I was also told that it could be a problem with transmission, however, my problem turned out to be the vehicle speed sensor. It's most likely the vehicle speed sensor in your case as well.
If I remember correctly, it set me back 250 bucks or something like that.
Can't be sure because it was a while ago.
Anyway, have your speed sensor checked out first before you do anything.

your Tranny ECU ( TCM ) logs a fault code just like the PGMFI ECU, you need to locate it and read out the fault code, its bolted next to the ECU on the floor under the carpet under the clove box. could be anything trany related.

It WAS the Coolant Temperature Sensor! 35 bucks and the car's as good as gold! Just needs full fluid and filter changes and it'll be kicking ass!
