My point is that Porsche's are n=known for there quality etc. Hand crafted and Porsche engineered.
The Old 911 where almost entirely made by Porsche. where as the new Porsche out source there parts etc. and has completely sold out in the boxers as they are like 15% made by Porsche...

If the 987 model Boxster shares 30% of parts with the 997 model 911, then how the hell can the Boxster be only 15%?
BTW, you must be dreaming about who makes parts, Porsche doesn't make 100% or even 80% of the parts that go into an old or new Porsche. The drive belts are 3rd party, the AC are third party and the rotors are 3rd party. The suspension is made by Bilstein and HECK, the damn transmission is Aisin (Japanese!).
It was an article on a Magazine I read im sure it was motor,
Said something in the lines of the 997 being 65% porsche and the boxster being 15% and the Boxster S alittle higher. But it was over a year ago, it could be 35% not 15 but its Just a sort of rating that they give. It may be that the out sourced parts are better than the one manufactured by Porsche ...

It is economically unfeasible for a car manufacture to manufacture close to 100% of their own parts. Think about it, imagine the number of different engineers that they would have to hire and how many additional separate factories they would require. They would have to be located in different locations some processes like brake rotor casting can't be near another section which does temperature sensitive assembly/components.
The only company that does all their own manufacturing is Ferrari, and they have the appropriate price tag to accompany that.
