so true. knowing about spare parts doesnt necessarily mean knowing about putting them together. one certain honda spare parts place tried to tell me a D15 box would match up a ZC . i think type one may have been jking slightly by his remark so take it with a grain of salt.
also, working at a dealership etc.. doesnt instantly give a bounty of wisdom on such topics over others. respect the fact that there are a lot of ppl on here who seriously know their stuff without working for car manufacturers.
but anyway, it is pretty much a straight swap. hasport do the mounts but you prob dont need them if you getting a half cut as i'm fairly sure (some one clarify?) that the factory mounts will fit, since your b18 will have to come from a DC2 which share the same basic chassis as ek's. either way it's really no diff to a b16 going in and there are plenty of them done

I used to own an EK with a B18C in it. My friend put the exact same motor into an EG. It is as straight forward a swap as they come. You can use OEM mounts.

Sorry to highjack, but if you have a D16 moving to a B18 on an EK i think you will need a different rear motor mount and possibly one side mount, i can't remember if it was left or right, then you will need a new front or rear transmission mount also.

so MRJDM if i get Ek VTIR B16a mounts will that be what i need ??? thats what i need to know sikcivic i get some people say its bolts straight in and others say i need to change mounts. ive done a conversion before on a previous car and people said it bolds straight in so i did the conversion but ran into a few probs where it did not bolt straight in its the small things they did not tell me about which made it a pain in the ass it sounds about right to get the EK b mounts thanks MRJDM.

no no no i think you are misinterpreting what I said... what I meant was that you can use OEM mounts - you don't have to have custom/aftermarket mounts, which would be the case if you wanted to fit an H22A or K20A.

    You will need b-series mounts.

Hey, slightly off topic but reading these gave me a question to ask. I've got a 95 EG and obviously not satisfied with the 74kw or whatever it is. I want to put in H22a and perhaps turbo eventually... but the weight factor was mentioned above, so i'm not sure. How much roughly would it cost to get a conversion to a H22a? or even the B18 like lowEK is asking?

    Thanks in advance
