    Alpine Headunit - Antenna Problem

Hey guys, I've installed an Alpine 9856 Headunit I think it is and theres a problem with my antenna.

When I turn on the radio, the antenna falls and when I click CD, the antenna rises. I looked at Install Dr and the manual for the headunit and I'm pretty sure I have the right wires hooked up.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thank you in advance.

in the owners manual you will find the answer, but if you have trouble reading blue is antenna trigger and blue/white is amplifier trigger.

if he hooked up the amp trigger wire the antenna would stay up the whole time the head unit was on, not just when cd was selected.
unless he hooked the antenna up himself (the three wires at the base of the antenna), I dare say the headunit is malfunctioning.

maybe a locustom antenna would be a good solution

Thanks for the help guys, I'll double check the manual and the Install Dr diagram. It should be okay, but yeah, if not, going to get the locustom.

my dc2r has the same problem but one step worse..

it doesnt matter whether the radio is on or off, as long as music is playing through my aftermarket headunit the antenna will be up.. it only goes down when the car is offff !!~~

ive heard you can just disconnect the antennas if you dont want them sticking up but what about if you want the radio on??

so i invested in one of those s2000 antennas and it works like a charm..

the greatest failure of the dc2r - the antenna - just get rid of it
