    Custom Manifold

    Hey
Im going to be turboing my civic very soon an am looking into how much it is all going to cost. I think im going to have to get a custom manifold made up becuse of the very limited amount of room at the front of my engine. I want a manifold like this:

ide like to know approx what price something like this shoud cost to be made up before i go around to a few places to get some quotes.

How much have your custom manifolds cost?

Im not after an awsome one, im only looking for about 130kwatw.

    THanks

try looking at some log manifolds on ebay first mate. It will be cheaper.

For someone to make one up you looking at at least $500. Most places that are any good will tell you to take a hike as the labour involved it quite extensive whether you want a simple or a complicated one.

I've seen 4 made so far and they weren't cheap. Expecially as you will most likely want it in steam pipe

i know it would be alot cheaper if i could get something of ebay but the problem is their all made for newer single cam d16's with lots of room in front of the engine whereas my twin cam one in my civic has bugger all room down there. also for it all to fit the intake side of the turbo has to point towards the passenger side of the car, most face the other way.

Would getting a log mani made up be cheaper as its alot easier to do?

that depends on the the turbo
    u can get them rotated

as limbo said even a log manifold can cost about $500+ for a custom made one

yeah it again depends on the turbo.
I had to cut some of the webbing on the gbox to fit my turbo in, even after i rotated it. You can spend like $300 on a log manifold from the states or pay about $500 for someone to make you a log one, but it would be a sure fit.

I know Performance Exhaust in North mead makes some mean headers for turbo. Their number is 96835688.

sorry to say but thats a pretty shit manifold

the welds are done with a mig
a good custom manifold would be made of steam pipe and it would also be tig weld

compare that manifold to some thing like this manifold
not only are the welds done by a tig the collector merges together at all the same angle

a custom manifold like this frm me u would be looking at around $800

I stick to what STR8E180 says, i have the same manifold as him. I dont know if he got that made custom or its a Generic custom design but i have the exactly the same one as him and i love it. Made with steam pipe its much stronger and it also fits the aircon even tho i removed mine 3 yrs ago but for people out there who want to keep there AC that mani is deffinatly the way to go.

I used to have the ram horn style mani before this one and i felt this one helps boost the turbo alot better earlier on in the RPM range (quicker spool). might have the slightest lost of top end power but the difference is minimal compared to the (quicker spool).
