need help on coilovers tein? buddy club n1?
hey guys need your help on what coilovers to choose from tein or buddy club? anyone have coil overs let me know
-
also need tips on lowering my car i found out i need to change some center bushes? or clamps to have the tyre wear evenly and i might need new mounts or something
-
Which model Tein and which model Buddy clubs?
Tyre wear is Dependant on the wheel alignment, or are you talking about the driveshaft spacers, which are made to prolong the life of your driveshafts.
-
depends on what your needing coil overs for? if its for looks then might as well jsut lower them on king springs honestly. lol
but if your looking for racing use and also streeting then thats different.
BC coilovers are always good, also BC have great customer service, i remember my friends one started to leak just after a few months (factory defect) and he took it into a BC distributor shop, they looked at it, and they replaced it immediately on the spot!
Tiens may be good for day to day as you can get the EDFC which gives you control from the drivers seat.
but then it all depends on the aplications you need, street, racing, or showboat.
let us know more and we can give you more advise
It goes like a Zyrtec... I mean Vtec.

hmmm mainly for street comfortable daily driver without any problems even tyre wear
-
If you are lowering car for street, I would recommend some springs. No point forking out that much just for street driving. Tyre wear is affected by your wheel alignment, which you would have to do after you install springs. But if you must get coilovers, Get whatever is cheapest, doesn't have to be tein or bc.
-
^ its like vyet said, no need for coils for daily comfortable driving; if its just for lowering springs will do more then enough. but also if it has to be coil overs, just go with D2, they go for around 800-950 or soo.

mate,
Get coilovers, if you get kings, you will have to eventually get new shocks, and the price of a spring/shock combo is about as much as you'd expect to pay for coilovers.
go to www.titanmotorsport.com in the usa, alot of hondas in australia are riding on teins purchased from this supplier.
Also, these coilovers ( ithink most are) are adjustable, therefore if you feel the ride height is too high or low, it is easily changed.
Tyre wear will occur on any lowered suspension (lowered a fair bit over 1.5 id say)
this is due to the toe being out and also the degree of negative camber, whenever you change the height of your car, get a wheel alignment.
this means, if you decide you want adjustable coilovers, every time you change the height, the toe will be out of alignment again, therefore becoming a major factor in affecting tyre wear.
Camber kits are also a pretty good option, however a 4 wheel thrust alignment after any suspension drop is ideal.
tein basics, or ss are usually pretty good.
basics allow for height adjustability and are an entry level coilover setup, however are very good for price
ss (superstreet) are height adjustable, and damper adjustable, meaning you can change the softness of your suspension setup.
My advice, go for coilovers any day of the week, they are ideally far better than any spring/shock combo, however you wont be dissapointed with a decent spring shock combo, something like a koni yellow (adjustable) and a k-mac spring setup would be good, even using kyb gas socks is an option.
Look around, see what other s2000 owners have done, compare ride heights and their opinions and then make up your mind,

Sean

Any type of spring you will eventually need new shocks because they will wear out, same principle applies with coilovers, they will sooner or later require a rebuild.
Getting an entry level coilover setup like Tein superstreet would be a good idea, they are soft and good for the street, I wouldn't say they would Improve your handling at all, let alone handle better then stock.
Not sure if they make the SS or basics for s2000 but? Never bothered looking for them.
I don't recommend king springs at all, worse springs ever. Get some Espelir, Eibach or Spoons.
-
yes however as far as I am aware, coilover setup is much more reliable and offers better handling than a shock/spring setup would.
Also , coilovers would improve handling, especially around corners, and as the tein superstreet offers damper adjustability, I personally think it would be a suitable buy.
However i am an accord owner, and there may be different variables I have left out.
I agree with vyets, dont get kings, they are probably the cheapest and worst quality.
If you want something around the same price, look at k-macs or whitelines, both made in Aus.

i only mentioned kings as a punchline, if he wants handling action go to coilovers, if its for day to day use get springs.
It goes like a Zyrtec... I mean Vtec.
