I'm not really interested in driving a 6 cyl.. I have been driving a commodore exec (last of the ecotec motors) and have found them to be a pig with fuel. That has really turned me off 6's and I'm in the city most of the time anyway, so I think a 4cyl will just do me fine. I have also refined my driving style and don't drive hard anymore which is also good on fuel

Anyone got fuel consumption figures for the Accord VTI? I have asked the dealer to try and get the the vti with the v6 luxury leather interior instead of the standard cloth trim.

    The 05 V6 accord is 177kw. the 05 euro is 140kw

If i had the choice i would take the V6 as im a petrol head and love my grunt. The V6 owns the 4cl anyday, its quieter, smoother and has so much more low down grunt!
If the new euro is around 39k RRp for auto drive away and the V6 is around 40k drive away RRP i know wat i would get! and remember theres room to move around in those figures too!

I had a customer buy a V6 luxury in black, lowered it and put on some 19"s...looked mad....so if u want some power, get the V6 accord and get out on the road and put all those lil 4cl to shame!

    Accord Vti 9.3lt /100ks
    Accord V6 10.6lt /100ks

Also the dealers are not allowed to put leather on accord VTi's now. This is because of the side inpact airbags. We got a memo the other day saying we are to stop doing this as its not ADR compliant

If u want leather u have to get the V6L

    Hope this helps.

If you were deciding between the V6 and the Euro, then it is a decision swaying towards the V6 for your requirements. But if it is the VTi and the Euro, the only advantage of the VTi is rear passenger space. You get a bit more foot room and I think shoulder room too. In the front, it is the same, except that the VTi's windscreen is further away from you and you are slightly farther away from the front passenger. Smoothness-wise, I think they are similar, maybe with the VTi getting a slight edge since the K24 in that car doesn't have VTEC on the exhaust side, thus less vibration and noise.

Fuel consumption though, I suspect the K24 in the Euro is better than the one in the VTi. I drive a 6MT, and I get good mileage. Usually you can't get anywhere near the claimed fuel consumption sticker, but I keep getting those figures. I think the Euro's fuel consumption is somehow overstated.

I get 9.0-10.1L/100km with mixed driving in the eastern surburbs and stints across the Harbour Tunnel. On 100% highway, I have achieved 7.0L/100km. 100% surburb driving, 10.7-11L/100km.

I just went to Blue mountains. The trip there and back, some redlines and twisties in 2nd and 3rd gear on Megalong road, and I still got 8.3L/100km

To be honest, the only reason Thailand made Accord has become unique is because hardly anyone likes the way it looks.
I don't know how old you are, but unless you are like 50+ years old, I don't see a reason why you would get it over the Euro.
If Euro seems too common, I'd look at other cars altogether instead of getting the Accord. I just hate the way it looks. sorry to the owners of Accord.

Best bang for the buck, especially when they were throwing in the leather interior.
