Odour removal for new civic - rotten apple/cranberry juice

Left a bottle of fresh apple/cranberry juice in my car and it leaked onto the mats then into the carpet of the drivers side and I can't get the smell out.

I scrubed the area with soap and then use Glen 20 to spray it and the smell is still there, although not as strong. I think the juice is stuck within the carpet and the metal, is there any solution that isn't going to ruin the bottom carpet that i can use to get rid of the smell?

Noob section! Gosh where are the mods these days. I swear there are so many duplicate/noob threads these days.

Use the search - there was the same q but with vomit... I think the end result was steam carpet cleaners or baking soda solution.

    What i found with search:

dont be too harsh on the guy. I know he should have done a search. But how the heck will he know to do a search on "vomit" if he spilt cranberry juice.

your taste in fruit juices is poor
bring it to a detailer they should have chemicals and the proper equipment to get rid of it, maybe you can get your car detailed as well in a package of some sort :s

LOL. I don't care when you joined. This is a 2001+ civic specific sub forum. This post could have easily gone into the noob section. The perfect place for a question like this - thats my point. We're here to help but posting in the correct section would be nice.

Grow up - note the pointless smiley face:

    Anyhow an update:

My carpet is complete destroyed from the scrubbing.

I tried soap, I think the surfactants then just held in the smell.

The odour has seeped through the carpet and was in puddles between the carpet and the metal base.

Then I used Bicarbonate, no good.

FINALLY, only thing that has done the trick is over 200mL of 90% alcohol dumped right ontop of the carpet and left there.

Unfortunately my new car smell is completely gone and I can still smell woofs of rotten cranbery/apple juice and the button carpet is all fuzzed up and in balls. Meh.
