the are rota's 15" yeah my missus lives at labrador and me in westside/southside bris so it gets around.

    sexy pics from 45SET

the car is milano red with painted black 1 bonnet roof and boot. the paint was resprayed 5 months ago and since i have got it brought it up to 100% after a good claybar meguires polish and quite a few coats of wax! made the biggest difference!

The anti ozhonda additional and overboard sound deadening of my EG Si.

99.9% of the guys on this forum would have a heart attack seeing how much weight i added to my car by doing this but each to there own. i am a very serious car sound enthusiast. its no use having quality speakers if the roar of road noise etc is hiding all of the hidden detail that you paid so much extra to hear. anyway please don't burn me for what i have done. i wasn't going to post this work on here cos i thought i'd get burnt but a few people are interested so i thought i'd share.

this is what i spent a weekend doing. took all the interior out.

then cleaned all surfaces with wax and grease remover and some coarse rags

while i did this i put the dynamat out in the sun to soften. warm Bris day this had no troubles. i had troubles tho sweating my ring out. nothing a few bourbons wouldn't fix tho

i did all of the floor and boot area with dynamat extreme

and the other less important areas with flashtac to save money

that's the adhesive rubber/tar stuff applied. wait there is more

    dedicated sound guy,nice effort.
lil tip-when you get some bass in the back of these eg's,the black rear wing at the top rattles its ass of and squeaks against the back window, ive just stuck some foam down the back of the wing and it gets rid of most of the squeak

this is sound absorbing felt underlay. it absorbs sound. the stuff i applied before adds weight to the panels so it doesn't create sound.

    how i applied it. boot

i used paint on deadener to adhere it so the dynamat... so yes even more deadener. i painted it on nice and heavy then stuck it to it

i tried to flatten out the floor abit by filling the depressions with some of this felt

    then did the floor

put the interior back together with my new super plush black moulded carpet.

this difference this made was unreal! the car is quieter and feels smoother. little bumps in the road no longer make that big thud noise. my exhaust is still audibly loud but sounds deeper and less rattly from inside the car which makes it more pleasant. it feels like a new car. definately worth the $600+ of deadener and time. i know most of you think i'd be crazy to spend that much to do what you guys are doing the opposite of, but we have opposite goals. you want a gutted out fast car, i want a quiet smoother ride that sounds great with going fast not a high priority. i love the look of the eg thats why i have one. one i'll get a 2nd eg and gut that. this one is still pretty quick tho.

Thats awesome. I'm not crazy into Sound like you but definately love the setup. I'm running DA m5's at the front and soon to be upgrading to an IDMax 12" sub. I'll be doing exactly what you just did

Can't wait. And seriously, it doesn't add that much weight. You went a bit overboard, but your Dynomat woulda added 5-7KG max. I'm guessing yours added 20KG roughly. Have you done the doors yet?

Can you please PM me the place you got your black moulded carpet from?

    Thanks,
    Matt
