Deading the Sound of a CAI? Can it be done?

I have the fujita CAI. Its a really nice afffordable CAI but im starting to find the sucking noise at WOT as unacceptable in my capacity as a stealthmobile driver.

I like the performance but not the noise.

I was toying with the idea of using sound deading in that small compartment where the pod sits, you know where the big ass resonator used to live before I evicted it.

I am considering using FLASHTAC or DYNOMAT but i dont know much about the products or how effective they would be when stuck to the walls of the compartment.

Im interested in comments or suggestions about the viability of this project.

    cheers

I think it will still be loud. Why don't you try the Icebox? It is cheap and i doubt you will notice any negative performance difference.

I dont think sound deadening on the inside of the bar will have any change at all, adding some weight to the actual intake might lesson resonance but its the pod thats ultimately going to be making the noise; you wont really overcome the loud noise of a pod without removing it

If you want quiet then you'll want a resonator box, which really means you want a stock induction.

Is the K&N filter much quieter than the stock one that comes with the Icebox (I think it's the Unifilter one?)?

Is that the setup that requires a seal on the box also?

Don't know,i haven't run it with the Unifilter.I ran the K&N filter with the stock intake and the noise increase was next to nothing. With the Icebox you do need the seal if you run the K&N.
