    Window tint opinion

Hey its that time of month again when your window tints can be a savior in the heat. I am undecided whether i should get 15% or 35% for the same price quoted. I am taking a big risk by getting 15% with all the stories about insurance claims void and copping canaries?

if your worried, get 35%. Plain and simple.

or with 15% just drive with your window 1/2 down.

    kthxbye m8.

If your worried about heat get a proper show that does UV protection to do it...

a lot of people who do side jobs and just put tints on are actually useless... sure they look cool but my 10% burn my skin where as my GFs 35% UV coated one barely warms my skin.

All metal based films are UV reducing but the old plastic based ones ( turn purple ) these lesser quality films had nothing reducing UV.

Most if not all films today are Metal based as anyone who is any good will offer a lifetime warranty on the tint and install, can i suggest that if your worried about insurance and or Police then get 35's as per law, but there is a 28% available which is just that slighty darker that it looks good, but not dark enough that it attracts too much attention.

Also depends on the car, if its stock looking then you'll rarely get picked on, no matter how dark, too low, loud, standout, then your going to attract the attention anyway and they'll go looking for things to pick you up on.

If in Sydney, i can suggest a great guy for tints. PM if needed.

i'd go 20% tints are so good, i have dark tints with a blue tinge, i think the tinge makes them look not as dark

How often do you drive at night?

Well i didn't know about the tint laws until the tinter asked me what sort of tints i wanted, and i just said some dark ones. He then advised me if i wanted dark tints it would be illegal and insurance would void my policy.

3-4 times a week of night driving. I had some sort of tint on my old car - i think about 35% and it has never bothered me.

i'd too also go 20% its dark enough to not be clearly seen but not draw too attention from cops or make it difficult to see out of at night. i have had in the past 10% 18% 20% and 35%. i'd never go 35% again! waste of money. not even dark! 10% is clear as day illegal and 18+20% was perfect.

i crashed my last car wrote it off and it had 10% tint i got my full pay out no tint questions asked. it is alot harder to see out of at night on dark streets but with street lights and day it is fine.

    pic of 10 %

as you can see they are pitch black

i'll have to take pics of my now 20% tint job if you want but i am alot happier with the 20%
Is this the end of my car modding days? Buying a house says so...

    20% is just right
35% is great on the cars with abit of the factory tint in the glass and dark interiors
    how old is the car?
and like DSP26 said the UV rating really matters...
