Easy as. Take the wheels off. Unbolt the caliper from the caliper bracket. Unhook the rubber boots from the slider so that they don't get stretched too much when you pull them out. Pull out the sliders. Lube up the new ones and put it all back together.
Yes in the brakes sorry, ok will. Do if you read my other post they have been clangin over any bump in the road Honda have tried to fix this and they just relube them over and over after a day or 2 they clang again.. can they get damaged???? apparently they were put in once with no lube ???
I kind of doubt that they'd be making much noise unless they were really stuffed. They're easy enough to just take out and have a look though. They wouldn't be too expensive to just replace either. Especially if you do it yourself. Can't hurt.
the clanging could also be caused by the plates that siit on hte back side of the
brake pads, put some anti-sieze on the folded parts of the plates and some just on the plate itself
OK, UPDATE.. I have inspected the slide pins and they appear fine a little of the coating is worn but no actual damage so they look fine. However they did have some yellow thin plastic (i think) sleaves over the side next the to little rubber boot.. In the Honda manual there is no reference to these so i completly removed them both reassembled the calipers and so far so good, its been fine since last Thursday.. Which is longer than its ever been after getting it back from Honda..
Now the question is are those little yellow sleaves meant to be there???
If not my Honda service center are dodgy as and tryign to fix the issue by adding some protection around the pin so it doesnt clang.. Bastards
