the added weight of all the extra features the vti-L has combined would still be so minimal as to only have a minute impact on performance.

how much weigh will cd changer and climate control add to your car acceleration?

I think it would be almost zero..

well u can say its close to zero.. be realistic.. lets say around 20kg?..
so.. the vti still must be faster.. cause its lighter.. not faster by much.. but still faster.. =)

Isn't it statistically proven that people on lower incomes typically have unhealthier diets and are more prone to obesity/overweight? So therefore, if you were to inappropriately apply that here- the people who are cheap and buy the VTi must therefore be heavier/fatter than those who afford the VTi-L and thus this balances it out.

On a serious side; how about the steelies?

There are 4 important areas that Mitsubishi will never match Honda:-
    1: Build Quality
    2: Reliability
    3: Resale Value
    4: Econnomy

I remember reading about this back in Geography (back in year10 or something) that people with less disposable income are more likely to pick cheaper foods to eat, and that the cheaper foods are more likely to be unhealthier, fattier, processed more, McDonalds, etc... as opposed to wealthier people who are more likely to indulge in healthier eating habits such as fish and fruits.

Can't remember the article but I'm pretty sure this has been covered many times... I even recall seeing an article in Time Magazine not that long ago where they had photos of different families and all the food that they had consumer during a single week.

Atm I'm watching Biggest Loser on Ch10 *gasp* (I was eating dinner and needed something to entertain me!) and it made me realise that just having one of these guys in my mere Civic was enough to add 7 to 10% of the car's mass! If you were to take a few, your car could be upto 400kg++ heavier! Ouch for the engine. (Note: I'm not taking a swipe at the contestants- they have guts to do this on national TV, and kudos for trying to improve their health/image, but I'm just making the reference to people who do everything they can to shave a kilogram here and there off a car's mass in modifications; but then go and eat McDonalds and Mi Goreng to the point where they gain more weight!)

Looks don't count for me as much as the 4 very important areas i listed.
If people brought cars just on looks the old VW beetle would never have been as successful as it was.

In years past Mitsubishi have always had a problem with the mechanical longevity of there cars (maybe there has been the odd exception), on the other hand Honda are renowned for there longevity.

haha i was joking- of course it's not that important, but it definitely has an impact on the other variables you mentioned.
