How do I connect iPod to Jazz?

I got a cable which I made up with a few of my friends. Looks a bit dodgy but it works fine, the only gripe I had was that it didn't charge the ipod. So every second day I would have to charge it. Now I've changed it a pioneer HU with ipod input and its much better now. You just need to buy a facia kit if you want to get a aftermarket HU. You can get it at JDMYARD with all the brackets, antennae adapter and stickers.

mdjase, unfortunately no. bennjamin's method only allows connection of any mp3 with headphone jacks. it will not charge it.

hey mate, sure can, i've gone one in mine. just pop by ur local jaycar or similar electrical store and ask for a ipod car charger. 20 bux mate. the only problem is u get a little alternator noise when ur ipod is linked to the head unit and charging at the same time. i always have it charging, as long as u have the ipod at full output and the H/U is above "5" on the volume u won't hear it. otherwise u can go for the aftermarket headunit as suggested. i've had my old car owned by prick theives so i'll probably stay away from that method for a while.

But if I buy a new head unit I won't be able to find one that fits the shape of my current one. Coz the current head unit is shaped like a rectangle with the right side been half a circle. And that's gna look ugly if I try to replace it with a new one that doesn't even fit the shape.

not quite. there are FULL kits available to put what ever you want in it. right down to the plugs,screws and brackets..

I did everything like Bennjamin posted. But now there's a problem with the quality of the sound. In songs that uses multiple channels (e.g. the same singer sings multiple lines simultaneously or multiple instruments playing in the background simultaneously) only the main channel is clear. All the background channels are so soft you can barely hear them. But this doesn't happen when I'm using the CD player. Is there any way to fix this?

ive been looking at the USA Spec ipod integrator, a little pricy, but it charges your ipod and you can use ipods functions. ie seeking songs.

only problem is the website only says its for 06/07, anyone used it for earlier models?

did you ground the jack? if not thats probably why. theres grounding as part of the headunit which you can use. (where you put plugs for the ipod jacks)

yeah i did the grounding. basically with the cd player it can playing left and right channels separately (ie stereo). but with the ipod it plays both channels evenly (ie mono). i dont know if its meant to be like that or is it a technical issue with the rca cable / headunit / ipod.

so now when i play songs that sings parts of lyrics via either only left or right channel, those parts play out VERY softly. but any parts of the song that uses both channels evenly, theres no prob playing those.
