swt, if you havent bought your FD in the first place
you will save lot of money from doing this.

if i was you before bought your fd i just go strait buy 50k+ worth of car
its like you buying fn for 42k+trade in, i definetely wont take into account of enjoying fd before you purchasing fn because definately the same ride
this like you start buying basic of model civic for a start, sell it and buy the sport one for the same year model lol thats money waster
both are 8th generation my07 civic and both are call "civic"
unless you talking bout purchasing the 9th generation.
even if i got other same year model of honda i wont trade it for the same year, just because you like it, car is not like pancake

but i have no offense to your decision good luk 4 your fn, dnt forget whn you see fn around lol

Nah, FN2 is still quite a big difference from an FD2 Sport. I think if it was me, I'd smile everyday when I see the FN2 in the morning. It looks stunning in real life.

If you think that the GTI is Sooo fast buy one then.A simple reflash on a Megane will give you 210 Kw and 420 NM.You want to keep on goin with examples?

The FN2 is not a rocket ship, but neither is the Golf GTI.Start mucking around with turbos you better know what changes need to be made if you want your motor and drive train to survive.
You made the original claim that the GTI was slow. I just disproved it. The APR reflash is totally safe. The drivetrain for the GTI is good for up to 600nm. No issues there whatsoever. Check out some of the heavily modified track examples in EU. They all run standard drivetrain with just a HD clutch.

Be very wary. How can they offer a $10k changover if the new price for a Sport is $10k less than the FN2R? They're essentially offering you the brand new RETAIL price for your car. I smell a rat. The Honda sales boys here will tell you the same. Nothing is certain until you have it from the sales manager. Just a word of warning.

    Good luck!

Great deal. IMO they paid way too much for your trade in and you got a great discount for the FN2. It's official. The FN2 is being carved. Just 6 months after it's launch. The GTI has nowhere near that flexibility and has been out for 3 years this May.

Well done. Enjoy the new car.
