I thought the red on the black Civic (from the OEM ones) looked a bit weird. It was nice, but I wanted something black. Ever since I saw the tinted tail lamps (i.e. smoked) on the Singapore forums, I've wanted something like that on my black Civic.
Btw got 'em off eBay... I just hope not too many people do this otherwise my car will look the same as every other Civic again.
Hey people, I think I've discovered what the deal was with my eagle eyes. The dude who installed themmade the right one point down HEAPS. I'm guessing this is because of some legal requirement for HIDs to have the right one down more to prevent blinding of oncoming traffic?? Problem is, in the distance my car looks like a ****ing pirate. The left hand side light is looking nice and bright and slightly bluish whilst the right hand side one has barely any colour because it is pointed down and also looks MUCH MUCH duller, almost like it doesn't have any glow to it. I'm thinking that the right one should be aimed a smidgen upwards to equalise the glow of this light so it looks more similar to the other. Has anyone else had any problems with this? I opened my bonnet and it looks like to re-aim a little I will need to remove my front bumper.
Can anyone provide some help on how to remove the bumper and also re-aim the lights? Is it a matter or moving the light element around or actually pulling the housing apart and re-aiming the projector lens?
You can adjust the height of the beam by turning the white looking bolt on each of headlamp. On the drivers side, you can easily access it. I use a wrench. On the passenger side, you need to remove the white bottle. Then you will see the white looking bolt. Use a small + screw driver to turn it. Yes, the left side does shine higher even if you pull it to the lowest height. I have pulled my right side to the lowest height and it does seem to be not level with the left. I will experiment this week with raising the right side higher and test if it blinds oncoming traffic.
