CR-V DIY body coloured door pillars

    Hey guys,

I was recently curious and asking questions about what was under the black vinyl stickers that cover the door pillars on my GEN 2, I was hoping that underneath they would be painted body colour.

To my surprise they are! So here is a little cost free DIY that i have put together for the others that may want to do it:

    BEFORE

Step 1: Open the back door and take off the rubber that sits between the front and back door pillars

Step 2: Start peeling the vinyl off the edge of the door pillar all the way from the top to the bottom

Step 3: Peel the vinyl back off the pillar a little bit at a time starting at the top of the vinyl and moving down, then go from the top again and repeat (if you are gentle it will all come off in one piece and you wont have to pick at little bits and pieces to get them off)

Once you have removed all the vinyl it will look the same as below and will most likely leave alot of sticker backing all over the paint

Step 4: Get a 100% cotton polishing cloth, wrap it around your finger and start working away the left over sticker backing (be prepared to get some nasty blisters on your finger tips because this stuff doesn't like to come off easily)

Step 5: Once you have removed all of the sticker goo with the cloth it is time to polish the pillar

Step 6: Put the rubber seal back on the door pillar

Step 7: Repeat on all other door pillars (note: the front doors dont have rubber seal so skip this step.

    AFTER

Im not too sure if you can do this DIY to other models of cars.

I reckon it looks pretty damn good, what do you guys reckon?

It matches with A,C and D pilllars which are colour coded. Make your CRV stands out too.
