random dc2r parts come up for sale all the time, u will have to get in quick and have a bit of $$$ to get a entire dc2r front.

imo- source the b18c2 front, do the conversion and slowly along the way add the extra dc2r parts that u want. most of the dc2r parts that u would want (that make any difference ie:KW) for the b18c2 are parts u can get aftermarket anyway.

why would you need to change the B18C2 to a B16 head?

If you guys realise... B16 engine vtecs is more effective than the B18s (this applys to none type R b18c)

But the B18C type R engine are using similar head as the b16. that gives more torque and vtec and is pretty much more effective.

In other words... putting a b16 head onto a B18c2 is like a cheaper way to get a type R thou its power and torque loses to an orignal Type R by a wee bit...

does the vtir dc2 have a lsd in the manual gbox?

type r parts arent that common and if they r there bs expensive coz its got a red rocker cover :P

Wouldnt using a b16a head to increase compression in a b18c be a disaster waiting to happen?

you lose compression with a b16a head in comparison to the b18c2 head

not really its probly not that much its only 10:1? i think

its not really that high basicly u just dont want detonation to occur which can be monitored and u can lower the compression if ur really worried by a thicker head gasket.....

u just run a higher octane fuel which will help with the detonation because the higher the octane the slower the burn.

there is not much difference in power with a b16a head or b18c head.

    check this out for proof
