    EG Civic with B18C5 or Possible K20A

    Hi Guys,

    I have looked around on the forums and have not seemed to of found exactly what i am looking for or anything that answers what i want answered.

    I am in the process of purchasing an EG Civic and was looking at doing an Engine Conversion possibly into a B18C5 or a K20A. I have read most threads about both engines and think i will go with the B18c5 unless someone has anything to say that can change my mind.

    I currently drive an Mitsubishi Evolution VII and am looking at making a turbo Civic... what i really wanted to know is what is the best way to get the EG going quicker.

    B18c5 with a turbo?
    K20A with a turbo?

    and which turbo to go for. The car will strictly be used for street purposes but i am looking at possible a 11second Civic if possible.

    Can anyone give me some advice as i am new to the Honda's

    Anyones advice would be much appreciated.

    budget? and y did u compare the b18c5 and k20a? big diffrence in price for the 2...

    Budget i will be looking at maybe 21k MAX

    well my friend has the K20A in his EK i believe.. not turbo or anything and its doing alright so i was just wondering out of those two which one would be the best choice.

    lol, do a search heaps of sh!t on B v K series engines also look in the forsale section and maybe even pm fatboyz39 since your in sydney he'll help u out

    K20A turbo i really dont think you could do that for $21K max.

    If you are going turbo then there are many options.
    You should broaden your engine choice.

    I wanna do an LS/Vtec turbo on my DD one day haha.

    That you could do for $21k quiet easily. The engine reliability would be an issue though.

    yeah ive already done the searches on the forums for help but still really confused about it... not sure on what to do.. and which turbo to use.. what turbo would you use and which conversion would you pick?

    and would you have a rough idea on how quick the car will be doing down a quarter?

    hmm... so K20 turbo is out of the option i guess LOL...

    looks like its going to be the B18 Turbo haha...

    with 21k b18c turbo is achievable.

    K turbo will be out of the question unless you want to build it with shit parts.

    goto youtube.com and punch in things like:
    - ls vtec turbo
    - b18c turbo
    - honda turbo

    etc etc... theres heaps of qtr mile vids on there so you can see just what they run.

    www.honda-tech.com is the place to find your info aswell, check out their forced induction section and see what people have done before turbo wise and what engine choices are common for a turbo setup.

    Yeah i thought the B series would be the best way to go...

    omg i totally forgot youtube existed lol.. thanks for that heads up...

    well at least i know what engine i will be using now...

    any idea on what turbo to use?

    i hear alot of people use the s15 one?

    is there any other turbo that is bigger and puts out more but doesnt have to much lag in it?

    if u have 21k to do ur car, i would suggest u keep it non turbo, get K24 with K20head in it, since EG is so light, the car will have lot of torque and power.

    i have a b18c non R in EG, i already can pull 6.28sec from 0 to 100.

    u had a turbo car, why do the same thing?? having a NA car can be fun, especially u can beat some turbo car at the light, then look at their faces, like they dont know what hits them.....haha
