    Sunroof Busted?

Hey guys, I'll make this quick seeing as I've gotta run for work 5 minutes ago.

My sunroof won't open. I push the button, it slightly lifts then goes no further. The sunroof motor just seems to stop. The sound coming out of it is as if it just fails. I then push the button again to close the sunroof and it goes back down.

Also, the back of the sunroof is sticking out, as in it isn't completely flush with the roof, can't remember if that's how it should be. When I washed it nothing leaked through.

Any ideas of how I can check a few basic things before I decide to take it into a shop?

    Thanks for reading guys.

im no expert at this. but it could be dirt or rust build up in the rails that slide the sunroof open. try cleaning and re-greasing the rails.

Ive got this too. its the part dangling down. it looks like a corner has come loose on the right side. i freaked out when it happened to me coz i though i stuffed it, but when i tried again another day it worked fine, the material didnt catch. so try secure the loose corner buddy.

i found a good way to get the rails moving again
is to hold the front of the sunroof down outside the car
while pushing the button it should force it to open up
    while its open
get some lube agent and spray it liberally around the rails.
be careful not to get in your car or on the paint..
