For a daily engine with only bolt on mods a JDM K20 is best.
For a modified engine ( cams/pistons etc) its best to start with the AUDM engine as the end result will be similar

Starting with an audm engine, you will automatically have a few grand extra in the pocket. So putting that money towards the internals WOULD be more beneficial.
Also if you were going to build, you wouldn't build with jdm internals, rather build with higher performance stuff. If not, just buy the jdm to start. It will be cheaper to do so in the first place.
One other thing to note is that jdm also have shorter final drive in the gbox so it accelerates quicker than the audm one.
