I recently purchased a 2008 VTI auto Civic, brand new for $23,650 (less than one week old)
I initially had it haggled to $24,500 (without floor mats, as they costed $100.... I bought some generic ones from Autobahn for $15 go figure) but I was quite happy after a family friend had someone in his family buy a civic VTI (A/T) at the same dealer in the $23,xxx area so I had the paper worked faxed and the dealer slashed a couple hundred after a chat.
    Why hello there

just the vehicle. Accessories were not worth it imo. If you've worked in the industry before you know where to go to get things at a much cheaper rate, like the tint Ming was asking $695 with a life time warranty, I got my moms Avalon done for $80 darkest legal and it hasn't peeled/bubbled since a year ago

er... why u sed is not worth it? you need to make it included on the price quoted for your car... like mine, the tint are free (not $695, not $80 )

well... thinking on re-tint with darker colour now

Yeah, haggle price, get all the accessories you want thrown in for free (at least the floor mats). Tint is not as easy to get free.

first time haggling for a car, so I didn't really have too much confidence and was happy after bringing it to $24,500 then even more so after wiping a couple hundred off that price.
As for the floor mats, I like them but to save $100 I can live with generic ones, and I do believe it is harder to haggle accessories for the base model variant.

You can always haggle for anything. Doesn't matter if you are buying a base model or even a 2nd hand car. HAGGLE!
