    Is this oil ok to use in my car?

    hey ppl

    was just wondering short simple question? is castrol magnatec 10w-40 alright to use in my EG civic Vtec 1.6 litre engine?

    its all i have at the moment and i kno its dead low needs a good service but very vry short on cash at the moment so was wondering if it is ok to use for the time being?

    its semi synthetic right ?
    if it is then go for it son, it'll be better than whats in it now

    actually it doesnt say anything about being semi synthetic or fully synthetic or even mineral based just that it is 10w-40 SAE

    this is only tempory as soon as i get my funds back up it will b getting the right oil....but it shuldnt do any harm correct?

    mate it's not going to make a great deal if a difference... that oil will be fine in your car

    It is fine. use it. I'd rather use cheap nasty 10w-40 oil rather than run low.

    agreed with above, better off being at a good level than low

    just dont thrash your car until you can get some good oil

    the only good oil for honda's is Honda FEO 10w30 =)

    i think ive run into a bit of a problem....after i put it in my dad came home and said it was a synthetic based oil....10w-40......is this going to effect my engine in anyway...and quick response will be greatly appreciated as i have to go out in like half hour and i dont want to mess up my engine

    No it won't affect your engine.

    ju8st change the oil as soon as you can and dont 'thrash' your car while the bad oil is in there

    go to a honda dealer and buy some FEO =D

    gotta get the funds up...how much does that oil go for...and what time frame would u say it acceptable to keep it in there 2 weeks...should that be fine??

    ur car is not gonna all of a sudden die if u use this oil for 2 weeks 1 month or whtaever.

    As long as u keep ur levels up, drive in orderly manner when cold nothing will go wrong.

    Only way u can go wrong is if you start putting olive oil in you car.

    All good man stop worrying so much.
