    Changin tranny fluid...?

    Hey there boys n girls!

I got a DC4 n service it myself on a pretty regular basis...
All the basics ie. brakes oil etc i do when needed but since i bought the car which was about one n half (40 000 ks) ago i havnt bothered changing the transmition fluid.

Was wonderin how this is done n what sorta oil i need 2 purchase?

I honestly have NO IDEA on where 2 even begin so if some1 whos done this can give me a few tips it would b much appreciated, dont wana give my car 2 a mechanic whos gna charge me 50 bucks just 4 the job, dont really trust those dudes anyway.

    Thanks guys!

Get Honda MTF06 and 2 crush washers from the dealer. You need one which is the same size as the oil sump washer, and a 2nd one which is abotu 20mm in diameter.

transmission fluid is drained via the lowest bolt on the side of the gearbox housing. It is then supposed to be filled via the 17mm headed bolt , located alitte up on the side of the differential housing.

    follow this DIY i did

    or try this one -

^^ As Ben said, there are two bolts, have a look at the DIY's.

start by takinghte bottom one off and letting all of the fluid drain out, was a fair bit in my case. once it has stopped dripping but the new washer and bolt back on. (try do it with the car as level as possible i.e. not jacked up at the front too much)

then use a transparent hose or somethign you can buy at most places and feed it in the top bolt (cant exactly remember again) but just fill it up untill it starts to overflow and your good.

ben the first link didnt work for me ;p maybe its my computer but the 2nd works fine.

Did you get a hose and funnel to fill up the tranny with too?
