I usually fill up at around 400-420km (needle sitting just above the last notch)
I've never taken it to the fuel light before but I imagine it would be around 440-450km?

    Hi,

I wrote up a whole post on my fuel consumption. (Here: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...11#post1550511) My driving is a mix of semi-rural / metropolitan(city) (Eltham - Wantirna South).......Using Mobil 8000 (98 Octane Premium) i get on average just above 500kms to ~42 litres. Don't forget if you have a VTEC integra/CRX you will be using premium fuel (95+) so you have to factor that into the cost too.

But of course it is going to be more efficient than a 4ltr I6. Expessially a car with little engineering and focus on both fuel and volumetric efficiency.

Don't forget to add in the costs of an extra car (Initial Purchase Price + Registration + Insurance) even just third party and rego' will probebly render the fuel savings useless expessially considering the XR6 will still be in use.

I have mates with daily drivers, and the main reason they have one is to not put "wear and tear" on their "good" car. Have you considered converting the XR6 to LPG?

    Regards,
    Andrew

hey guys i was driving this morning when i had an interesting thought.... the honda book says 9.0l/100km or something like that 9.3l sooo if your honda is running more km's then the factory spec, could this mean that your engine is leaning out somewhere along your fuel map? could it be that your injectors are not consistantly clean? ie injector 1 is clean, but injector 4 is a little clogged???

hehehe, and one other thing was, if i were driving the route which the previous generation walked to school it would be up-hill both ways???

my car prolly eats more petrol in 5 minutes cruisin through the backstreets (2nd/3rd gear) than a half hour cruise 2 town on a straight rd. Awesome fact.. i know! haha
ps. is it just me, or does evry1 sit in 5th gear pretty much 90% of the time, 50km/h and up? (different story in the hills obvioulsy)
