Not sure buddy lol But I figure it's got a decent price tag being A'Pexi n' all. I was thinking of taking that pic to the exhaust shop to see if they could match one up that'd be similar

That's what I'm afraid of...My EG is decently low...but not extremely and around my area there's plenty of speed humps.

Other thing I forgot to mention was that it's daily driven and I'm aiming to keep the noise levels down...not stock, but not so loud either. Like I said, EPA'd recently so I'll have to get it done like that anyway lol

    Cheers

All depends on what your main goal is like outright power the youd want 3inch.

I had 2.5 on my JDM prelude and that worked quite well although that was pretty much straight pipe work no muffler.

    3inch definatly gonna be loud.

I'd like 3inch, but I don't want to risk getting busted again. Just want a mildly tuned car...in saying that, 2.5" is sufficient I reckon. Will be seeing the track here and there but nothing major Next thing to do, fix up the gear box with the LSD...which, to my disappointment hasn't arrived yet

Make sure you use some top quality gear fluid with your new lsd buddy, someting like endless.

What LSD? - if cusco only use, cusco oil, or Motul FWD type II LSD oil.

big exhaust = less exhaust gas velocity which at lower rpm will not be as beneficial as a 2.5" unit. If you can max out the flow capabilities of a 2.5" i would be very impressed.

im in a similar situation hey, dunno if i wanna go 3" or 2.5". Originally i was gonna go 3" and i bought a 3" metalcat n muffler relying on the info off honda-tech, the guys over in the states.http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/2197695 influence from friends was a major factor as well lol. but i didnt want a obnoxious noisy exhaust so i sold the 3" stuff and now im back to square one, contemplating between 2.5 or 3. maybe both? like 3" from header to cat then 2.5" to muffler lol? hahaha collector size is important as well.

one of the dyno graphs shown is 2.25" vs. 3"

but thats comparing 2.25" vs. 3" not 2.5" vs. 3" so cant tell if to go 2.5 or 3 but defs not gonna do 2.25!

someone with a 2.5" and 3" exhaust system and a dyno system should go

but i think ive found my solution, VAREX!

    found this also:

this is toda header uncorked vs. 2.5" exhaust and straight pipe. Same motor, same dyno, same tuner
Blue line is 2.5" exhaust system w/ 2.5" test pipe
    Yellow line is open header
Green line is 2.25 exhaust w/ 2.5 Catalytic

Notice how the power is quite even until 7k, then it falls off.

I'll add that I just built my 2.5" exhaust, but I wish I had gone to 3"

UPDATE! Going for the 2.5" and a nice stealthy oval muffler with a generic looking tip. Nothing fancy, just gonna keep the cops off my arse. Need a new rear bumper as the old cannon has eaten it's way through my one... Car is likely going in for a re-spray as well since it's sporting 3 different colours at the moment which are blatantly different lol

From what I'm hearing, the 3" will be louder than a 2.5" by quite a bit. The 2 1/4 I had on the D16 was loud enough to wake up my neighbors (yes it did happen...very upset they were), but that was with a cannon combined with a busted silencer . Hopefully this new combo will be quiet...

Not much has changed since I last posted...still working it slowly, really no time to be put in to the car atm with work and all. Time is never easy to come by to do things you really wanna do.
