    I let mum's euro get to about 100kms before the first redline.

    To give you an example we had N16 loan cars at work. I got one brand new, one of the sales manager had another and a chick in service had another. I wasn't light footed, the salesman had an even heavier foot and the service chick was gentle.

    Yes there was a different in how they all went. The salesman one was the quickest and the sevice chicks the slowest.

    As I said don't redline it everywhere just every now and then and you will have a better car. Mum's is at 85,000kms now and no mechanical probs, is great on fuel, goes well and is happy to go to 7500rpm

    Agreed.i redline mine 2-3 times a week.It seems to "wake up"the ECU.
