No, the honda rating is just based on a test under certain conditions. This is not a real world simulation of driving styles and situations. If you do a lot of driving at 100km on a flat road without speeding up or slowing down it is inevitable you will use less fuel!

I've never been able to get consistently below 10l/100k. So I wouldn't consider them an economical car. Grab a sohc vtec civic.

There's something wrong with either your engine or your calculationsto get that figure. A guy I know has a '92 DA7 4 door auto 1.6 L ZC PGMFI and regularly gets 6.5L/100km

i used to put 98 BP ult, run 570 kms per tank, but most kms are done in high way, and i m still using k&n oem replacement filter, ngk spark plug, cleaned injector, enigne has been flashed.

hrm for some strange reason, the past two weeks I've gotten terribly worse economy out of my dc4. Is it normal for colder days = more fuel used?

Or on a cold start, will it use much more fuel if i rev it the same amount as normal driving?

I have noticed that colder days my teg becomes more rev happy (possible that it is mainly due to intake) and I seem to reach 4-5k rpm more quickly than normal... guess that could be another factor. Or my teg is dying...

usually if you have a dead thermostat and your car refuses to get upto operating temp ecu puts out more fuel, can't remember why though...
hence why low temp thermos and fan switches have been ill-advised for daily drivers.

Remeber thats a different engine. Aussie Da's run the b18a1 which isn't an economical engine. Admittedly I need to do some maintance as my car is coming up to th 200k mark, but my other Da was the same and everyone I talk to who owns integras has the same problem.

My DA9 gets me 8.2 to 8.9 Litres/100kms on 2 hours of super peak hour traffic a day (takes me just over an hour to travel 30Kms) and on regular UP.

I've gotten under 6L/100km on the highway, and I never get more than 10L/100km city fanging it everywhere - this is on 185,000km old clogged up injectors, old air and fuel filters and gunked up to the shithouse intake path. The B18A is rather economical indeed.

My DC5R stock is shocking, 12.5L/100KM normal city drive never WOT. I use PULP95.

Any suggestion how to improve it? My car is regularly serviced at Dealer every 10.000km and I change the engine oil myself every 5000km or 6 monthly.
