I have had 16x7 +40 wheels, 205/45 tyres the same as IEVAQ8, no problems. A lot of people use this size wheel and tyre, its not an uncommon thing at all. Thats the maximum offset I would go with 16x7 +40. Currently I have 16x7 +50 and of course that fits 10mm further in.

If what you say is correct about your wheel specs, then there is only one other thing, your big tyres. Being a 205/50 they are higher and will buldge out a little more. That I think is where your problem is.
