    Vtec too early

    Hi, i need help.

Bought my car with the apexi vtec controller. Got an electrician to remove it - needed the cash.
anyways, when he removed it, he didnt default the settings. now vtec kicks in at 4500rpm.

    apexi's sold.

how can i change it back to default settings.
    can i reset ecu?
    or
appointment with honda and their scan tool?

    help much appreciated.
    thanks

If your talking about the B18C u got marked under your avatar & assuming its a stock unopened P72 motor, then your VTEC is set 4400rpm from the factory.

lol even harder, get your facts straight

    B18C2's are 4400rpm

what your prob thinking about is the IAB's opening at 5750rpm onto the short runners, thats what most of the noise is in a B18C2

vtec starts its first stage at 4400 but the butterflies in the IM open at 5700 (thats the part you can hear)

just remove the fuse for the ecu and it will reset then just leave the car to idle for 10 min or so

    yes,sorry,to get technical your right.

the vtec boundary window on the B18C2 is 4400rpm at high engine load, out to about 5000rpm at low engine load.
