glass antenna uses boosters... i guess the booster does wonders. One of my friend change to aftermarket HU, then have problem with the reception, found out that the booster was not powering up.
there is a differnce between an OEM tried and tested onglass that works and cheap chinese onglass that dont, trust me, i've tried them all and they all suck with a capital S
Hmm... in that case, maybe they can get an OEM one? But the problem there is that it might be in the glass, don't know. I'm sure that there's a good kit somewhere.
