Fd1 brake pads

hey guys, just wondering if anyone has changed pads yet on the fd1s?

what pads did you go with?

fronts/rears/fronts and rears

why?

cost?

any help would be much appreciated

i've been thinking of doing this myself. I've heard on the forums somewhere that people complain about the civic brakes not being very responsive on long car trips. fortunately, i haven't had such an experience.

Yea the OEM pads are pretty dodgy as they heat up really quick.

I've changed mine to spoon EK9 pads, although they need a little custom work done. But they are GREAT!

yupe. this, the easiest to improve your brake.
change to ferrodo and SSBH line, will improve much.
upgrade to BBK, will be "MONSTER"

ferrodo is brake pad brand name, anyway, you can other brand as long it's heavy duty/racing.
AP ? yeah, but also massive price too

The actual pad itself had to be shaved a lil as our pads dont have this "fin" on the edge of the pad... (think of the mugen lip), those had to be shaved off and fits perfectly

sorry for reviving an old thread.

Can any FD1 owners confirm brake pads front & rear in bendix part numbers? I do not think what they have online is accurate

FD1 runs on a R18 engine if this helps

^^This is what bendix says on their website. Can you confirm they are spot on?

I have been given part numbers like DB1515 for fronts and DB1142 for rears.

Can't confirm, but it might be worth giving them a call and getting a written confirmation from them should they be incorrect.
