    dude if you have a integra vti-r you will already have a pod in your stock airbox. i replaced mine with a good K&N filter and kept it in the airbox so its completely legal, you cant tell when you look into the Engine bay so no troubles from police.

    teg air boxes have a factory paper pod in them
    k&n do a factory replacement

    Because no filter will always beat filter in regards to power and sound.

    I remember reading a huge comparo that I think autosalon mag did. I will try to find it, but K&N was right up the top in terms of both flow and filtration.
    3A cheap ass filter did all right too, from memory.
    the k&n filter did horrible what you talking about. in that article they came like 8th or someshit.

    custom air box and a descent cold air feed should do the trick.

    It didn't stay around long enough for me to make a box but the cold air feed did make a difference.
