17 inch Luxury wheels on a standard 05 Euro

    Hi Guys,

I recently purchased an 05 Euro which has standard 16 inch wheels. I would like to put 05/06 17 inch Luxury wheels on it. I rang Honda and they advised that the Luxury has a slightly different steering rack designed to handle the 17 inch which obviously comes standard. Does anyone have any idea if my standard euro steering would feel any different or greatly affected by putting the luxury wheels on it or after market 18 inch wheels on it? Any advice would be appreciated. Obviously lots of guys do this so i assume it is not such a big deal. Thanks

nah not much of a big deal, not too much noticeable difference in performance.

sizing of your tyres and size of rims would contribute and more noticeable to the ride quality though, otherwise light weight forged wheels would make a noticeable difference too.

make sure if you go for aftermarket rims check the offset is suitable for the euro.

fixed wheel offset for euro is 45-55. But people have run +42 which is on the limit of sticking out of the guards.

    atm i am running +43.

    Hope this helps.

its a little unrelated but is the setting the same for the euro sport and the luxury as the sport also comes with 17"

what about the suspension?? does that differ because the car is a 'sport'

You'll be alright. There are people putting 19" and 20" rims on their base model Euro.

as long as you stick with the same overall diameter it is fine - although I don't think massively increasing the weight of rim/tyre helps the VSA

It works. All it does is cut power when you lose traction and brake the individual corners when you are under or oversteering.
