yeah that what it comes down to.. you want EG (92-95) shape or EK 96-01 shape ??

Basically, in terms of performance/trim levels order it goes (best to worst):

EG - VTi, Si, GLi, GL, Breeze.
EK - VTiR, VTi, GLi, CXi.

the EG shape looks nicer i think, because they dont have the hideously large tail lights (featured on my car at the moment), but then it would also be nice to transfer my altezas on to the next car. The Vti i was looking at was the EG shape.

I'll have to say that i have seen an Si hatch beat a few vti sedans. I think the main reason is that the SI hatch is prob lighter as it doesn't have all those extras. Where i was at the time, the SI ran a few others, beat my previous rolla 100kw ver. . That night the only person he got put down by was the Integra Vti-r and only lost by a few car lengths. I'll have to say that it was very impressive, but he did have a carbon fibre bonnet and exhaust, he said verything else was stock, but i'm not sure that engine sound different.......

Also the SI was a DHOC sytem i believe, might have more potential, and it would be cheaper when you wanted a VTI-R once you feel lacking in power....

Personally for race/track use, the Si is better off NOT having the moon roof as it adds weight (up high) and also reduces chassis rigidity marginally.

The VTi also has front and rear stabiliser bars which the Si doesnt.

if you want to swap to B16/B18 etc, VTi is sligthly better for wiring.. but yeah on paper, they are both "96KW" with the Si being rated by Honda at 124HP and the VTi being rated at 125HP.

VTi also has slightly shorter ratios than Si..

mugeneration >> Are you going from 96 GLi to a 95 VTi ? that means going from EK to EG (gen6 to gen5) civic.. the EK VTi wasnt available till 96/97 I think.
best et? nah man im just some street racing punk i always wanted a vti and my si turned up, sold lol.

vti and si owns!! they both are the shit!

IMO the EG is the best shape civic Honda has ever produced. In my EG5 i have raced a few EK4's and Its pretty much a close race, i dont think theres all that much between them. (I know on paper there is a difference, but that means shit when your on the street)

Does anyone know the weight of an EK4?, check your rego papers. On my rego papers it has the EG5 at 1025 kgs. We should update the civic model info as the weights arn't listed.
