My Euro has blown the differential so I got a 2nd hand auto from Concord Spares and he put me onto a Honda specialist: ***********. They quoted a good price to replace the transmission and I picked it up yesterday arvo.
Warning to others: DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS - THEY ARE DODGEY !
Let me explain. On the drive home I immediately noticed problems. When I got home, I recorded 9 problems that weren't existing before the diff blew. They are:
1. Cruise control switches on but pressing Set/Reset has no effect
2. Steering wheel at an angle of 30-degrees off centre: wheels still steer straight however
3. VSA light on
4. Engine light on
5. Warning light on (triangle)
6. Sounds like an exhaust leak pulse under load
7. Click noise and vibration in transmission selector when press brake pedal
8. Engine idles unevenly and low RPM (around 500rpm)
9. When press brake pedal, engine idles lower / more unevenly which causes tremor in car.
I rang *********** (asian name) and asked him when I can bring it in to fix the problems. His response was that these problems are unrelated to his changing the transmission and that I should contact the transmission supplier.
I called NSW Office of Fair Trading and they advised it would be best that I get it looked at by another mechanic or Honda service to substantiate that the transmission replacement service caused these problems. Then fill out a Notice of Dispute problem and mail it with evidence to office of fair trading.
