firstly, go sit on the bikes and see how comfortable you are on them.
now i might be a little bias here but if looks is not all that your after than Id go with the cbr. You dont have to ring it up high in the rev range to get some good power going, unlike the r6 where its like your on the track between every intersection lol.

If your commuting with the bike alot, again from personal experience id recommend the cbr because its very very light, and the riding position is not overly agressive.

Theres a lot of things going for both these bikes in all honesty and none of us will take them to their limits. theres only a few in the world who can lol.

afterall you will be riding the bike and its imperative that you get the one you are most comfortable with..

o0 and girls dont no the different between cbr's and r6's so you will pick up on both if that floats your boat:P they just like bikes fullstop ahah
welll said... hahah i don't think many of normal riders like us can take these bikes to their full potential... so I don't really think it matters which one you pick... pick one which is the most comfortable (seat height.. seating position bballalalbaa)... however, the CBR have smoother power through all rev range... It should be the most user friendly bike out of the two...

Have you considered the gixxers? ninjas? To be honest the kawasaki has the least reliability out of all by what reviews says... but they are great bikes... hahah I own a kawasaki myself... just to prove you dont have to listen to each review like its ur bible

Ps: I love the look of the 07 white & red scheme R6... *droolz...

'08 CBR600RR is unchanged from the '07.... still a kick ass bike!

Funny thing with the power, the CBR and R6 have identical hp curves on the dyno chart in one of those links someone posted. Pitty it doesn't show torque though...

600rr ugly.. i dont like underseat exhausts and that rear cluster on the new model is ugly

i used to hate the gixxers but they're starting to grow on me... r6's look good on their own, gixxers look good with a rider on it, seems to flow with the bike. r6 riders always look awkward and uncomfortable to me... gixxer riders look like they are part of the bike =/ u kind of sit ON an r6 whereas you sit IN a gixxer.

    Hi,

    I have test riden both R6, R1, CBR600RR, CBR1000RR, GSXR1000, GSXR600.

and yes, as some people were saying, if u do a lot of track days then R6/R1 is the one for you. Has a better performance and ride quality in the powerband (above 10K RPM).

I would never consider anything above 600cc, it overheats so quickly! I found u need to be travelling average of 80Kph+ or more to cool down the 1000cc's to optimal temperature on a 20-30degree day. Correct me if i'm wrong, i only test driven the 1000 and never owned one.

But anyhoo, CBR600RR i found for me has a better ride quality. I am 170cm and weigh about 65kg, medium build, and for me it seem to have a better low to mid range power-to-weight neck snapping power and gear box works a lot smoother than R6.

But at the end, ***drum rolls**... i bought a 07 GSXR600 K7 . haha... Best of both worlds. - though not as comfy as the CBR600RR...

But yeah, it is all about how you fit the bike and not how the bike fits you.

    haha yeah guilty as charged

i spose i will ride it, but i dont see how i can pick any of the other 600cc's over the r6 even if they ride tremedously better.. the r6 is just lightyears ahead in terms of looks and that ... "inspires" me.

as for the gixxer 600.. well, if u're gonna go the 600 u might aswell get the 750..

statistically speaking...well actually i'm just generalising from all the R6/R1 forums i've seen, they seem to be the most crashiest bikes. haha. I've checked out cbr forums, gixxer forums - not as much "i've crashed topics", seems a lot of people loves to crash the yammies. i guess u need to powerband to get the fun out of them.

Unless, people on cbr/gixxer/kawa forums didn't survive to write a post. haha.
