funny, that we drove all the way to melbourne from brisbane a total return journey of 3400 kms and didnt get a chip on my windscreen, came home and soon after, a month or so, driving the 20 km journey home from work on the freeway i get this flying stone from the car in front!
it just goes to show, these things happen and its all pot luck!
Yeah, we got crap narrow country roads down south WA (up north are best in Aust...), but they are getting sooo much better. They have done most of the roads up now.
The only thing that sux with that is fresh stones to flick up...
Combine that with all the wheat grain semi's and the like, and stone chip city.
I got ~7,500kms on the CU2 now, and the front bar is a bit nicked up already.
Got 2 or 3 stone chips on the windscreen, but no cracks yet.
I mostly use my Prado for the long trips to Perth. It has a crack.
But my situation is like worst case scenario though.
I hate driving on M4, ppl never cover their loads, so much rubbish & stuff flying off and also flicking & blowing up from the ground. I had a piece of A4 size of wood got flick up and hit my screen. Lucky it didn't break, bloody scary!
